Orlando Bloom wants to take another trip to Middle-Earth

He who played dreamy "Legolas" (as the Ladies will say), wants to reprise the role on the upcoming Lord of the Rings prequel - The Hobbit.
'The Hobbit' has yet to start actually casting anyone, true, certain people have auditioned but no roles have been cast. This is why Orlando Bloom decided to drop Peter Jackson an email:

"I shot an e-mail to Pete and I said, 'You know, if you want me to don the blonde wig and pointy ears again, I'd be honored to do it,'" Bloom told MTV News. "He said, 'Well, we'll see.'"

Obviously Legolas was not in 'The Hobbit' but it is not out of the realm of possibility that Bloom could reprise his role as Legolas or play his father, Thranduil. Viggo Mortensen, who played Aragorn in the LOTR trilogy, has stated that Jackson and Del Toro are looking for ways to incorporate characters from the LOTR trilogy into 'The Hobbit.' Word is that they are even trying to incorporate characters that were not in the novel for the big screen.

I trust Jackson with what he has done with the first trilogy. But please don't load this cannon up with a barrage of unnecessary characters just because you know the movie's marketing will be more successful. Cameo's are cool but also annoying when not needed. Other then that, can we see this movie move forth already?
